Hey! So I'll be getting married in June '09 and I was wondering how long before the wedding should my fiance and I start taking dance lessons? If we did private lessons, should we do 1 lesson/week?

It really depends on what kind of dance you want. . the more elaborate, the more time you need. .2 weeks could be fine if you want simple and or have some moves already. . .what do you have in mind?

did you mean june '09?
we took dance lessons about a month before our wedding and we're both beginners - we had lessons about 3-4 times per week and wished we started earlier -- our instructor choreographed 2 dances for us
really depends on your skills and what kind of choreography you want i think ... goodluck!

we are getting married in 40 days. we are starting this week. we wil prob have no more than 5-6 lessons.

FH and I began taking dance lessons about 7 weeks before our wedding date...we bought a 5 lesson 'wedding' package, so starting 7 weeks before gave us time to space out the lessons around weekends when we had other things to do.
We're both beginners and both REALLY busy, so for us about 2 months in advance has worked fine so far.

Well, my fiance and are are kind of old fashioned so for our wedding we wanted a band that played upbeat older songs...like swing style....which we have no idea how to dance. But I'm sure we're also going to have some recent songs too...so we don't want to look stupid when we dance those too lol.

We started about 5 weeks prior to the wedding and took one lesson every week and two this week!
