FH just asked me when he gets to eat cake and I have no idea. When should I start looking for a cake designer? Any recommendations? I'm looking for someone who can make a 2 tier Tiffany box cake with 'pearl' accents at the base of each box. Thanks!
I spoke with some of the NYC bakers (ie. Gail Watson, Ron Ben Israel & the Cake Diva) and they all sid not before a year. 8-6 mos before is fine. I'll probly call at the 1 year make just in case their schedules are getting full.

Its very rude to taste the cake before the bride and groom cut it!

Re: When to start tasting cakes?
When I had called for my cake - they told me to wait and make an appointment like a month before my wedding. So I would call a few places and get an idea of how much time you'll need.
