When to Table Hop?

When to Table Hop?

If you are table hopping instead of having a receiving line, when should you start making your rounds? We will have about 8 tables of 8-10 people each, and the appetizer course is a duet rather than two separate courses. Is there enough time to do it before dinner, or should we start after dinner is served? If we do it before dinner, there would be a good 45 min to 1 hour gap between the appetizer and the toasts/dinner. Is that too much?

Making this day of time line is making my head hurt.

are you attending your CH? This is when i plan to get my hello's out of the way. If not i would try to get it done before dinner this way i have the rest of the time to enjoy the reception

We did the same - got it all done during the CH so we could enjoy the rest of the day as well as let our guests enjoy their dinners. And we had plently of time to eat too!

We got most of this done during our cocktail hour. We had 150 guests, and we only attended about 30 minutes of the cocktail hour and still got to greet & chat w/ almost all our guests. You just have to be aware and make sure to not spend too much time with one group, or else you won't get to everyone.

Unfortunately, we're spending the whole cocktail hour taking pictures, because we chose not to see each other until the ceremony. So I don't think we'll see a minute of the CH!

we had 110 guests and it took me all of cocktail hour to say hello to everyone - so it'll take you a good hour or more- i would try during the appetizer course so thatt way you have enough time to dance later...... and just get it out of the way in the beginning.

This makes sense. If you 'table hop' you WILL miss the whole wedding.

If I was not going to CH (and we are) I would just let whatever happen happen on its own. Our reception is 3 1/2 hours. If you have 150 people and give just 2 min to each, thats 300 min JUST talking and not enjoying.

If you dont table hop dont sweat it. But if you, do it EARLY so YOU can enjoy the party!
