I remeber Floyd...DH and I went out to dinner (in Manhattan...so we were walking) and it was raining so hard...and we were so soaked...but it was romantic...

then the next day my car was towed b/c I was 2 min into the street sweeping...

FH is praying for a hurricane. he surfs. we watch the tropical update at ten to the hour on the weather channel at least one every night. and get this, we need to keep our calendar fairly empty on weekends in august & september, due to hurricane season & the possibility of amazing surf! its nuts!

'85 was Gloria. That one we had no power for over a week.

Floyd was a tropical storm by the time it got to us. the last big hurricane to hit us for Aug of 1992 Hurricane Bob(I only remeber that because its my dads name)... I was working at Robinhood day camp and the bus had to pick me up since I could not drive... It was terrible...

I reemmber floyd, but we did not get it as bad as gloria (or that one in 93??) I reemmber I had an appointment at night, and I had to get home from brooklyn so I took the beaches all the way to Robert moses and backtracked west to Lindenhurst. I had it to appointment ON time,,,,but not a good thing to do in a little geo storm.

I agree that Bob was the last big one. I worked for Lilco at the time, so I remember it well. 16 hr mandatory days. Good o/t but a lot of work!!
