I went to the store. You definately want to see things in person-IMO. But, I have made adjustments online which was very convenient.
ETA-Crate and Barrel has several Sunday mornings (I think some are coming up in Feb.) where they open the store a few hours early so brides can register without the crowd. They also give you a gift-toasting flutes I think.

we did the majority of it in person, but we went so many times (like 8!!!) we just couldn't take it anymore and finished it up online![]()

we started them online with some basics- figuring it was easy to fill out all the info in our own home.. then when we went to the stores-- we just added to everything. It worked out to be much easier.

We did the majority of the registering in store-we have to go back to the store for towels and stuff (but we are still having our home built right now so until I pick the colors I wont register for that kind of stuff) but I also added somethings online
