I also love to eat at different restaurants. I am all for trying new things. I have no allergies or aversions to any type of food so why not.
I have a friend who is afraid of eating anything new. If the place is fancy or if she does not recongize anything on the menu she will not want to eat there.
This drives me crazy. There is more to life than fast food for goodness sake.
What are your thoughts???

Still. I love to try new stuff. Normally I just ask that its not greasy or spicy. I'll pick at something if I end up not liking it but you have to TRY stuff to know (in my opinion)

It depends - I tend to have favorite dishes at certain restaurants. So when I go to these restaurants I always order the same thing. But when I try new restaurants - I tend to venture to something I have not tried before.

I'll try new things if I know the restaurant is known for a very tasty menu all around. Otherwise, I'll stick to what I know they are good for.

I LOVE eating out and it is one of my favorite things to do.
When I do go out, I am all for trying new things. There is very little that I will not try. DH on the other hand, is a very cautious eater, which makes it difficult when we go out to eat.

I love to try new things and make a habit to try something *at least* twice (just in case it was a bad restaurant or off night or something). But being vegetarian, the eating-out options aren't all that varied. Unfortunately.

Same here-Over the years I've influenced him to be a little more willing to experiment but there's still some things he won't try. His loss!

I am pretty bad - I get the same foods at mostly the same restaurants all the time. I am not an adventurous eater but I can't get past it.

I agree! I don't eat much to begin with and if I don't like it I'll go hungry. And when I'm hungry I'm really cranky, so its better if I just stick to what I know. I taste FH's dish every time as an attempt to expand my horizons.

Me & FH are opposite! He's more adventurous than I am!! He'll try any different fish!!

ME too I am VERY PICKY! So trying to find something i woudl eat is a task itself.

No I don't. But FH on the other hand is a pain in the a$$ about this. He'll try anything once. I mean ANYTHING. So what he'll do is order something 'different' that he knows I've never had before and then sit there for the whole dinner and go.. 'try it try it try it try it try it try it try it try it....' until I get so friggin' annoyed at him that I just try it to shut him up! But I must say that I have broadened my horzions with food now. LOL
