When you edit a post...

do you feel the need to explain why it was edited?

I've noticed a lot of people adding 'Edited for spelling' or whatever...

Never really occurred to me to do that???

I know. I don't understand why people do that.

I guess it makes me feel more compelled to do it too then...

I have seen that more frequently on other boards. I guess editing can seem a little shady sometimes.
I used to, but I edited so much for spelling & typos, I am too lazy to explain it. I give a reason if I added or corrected information.

haha--edited for a typo! Seriously!

I usually add the reason, if it was comments I added later, if I think someone might re-read it. I added edited for spelling once, because I was trying to explain a comment I made to someone who took offense and wanted to make sure I didn't hurt her feelings further.

I don't say ETA when i have a typo, but I use it almost like a PS when I'm adding content to my original post, kind of to let people know that it was an afterthought.
