When you girls say Corset...

do you mean an actual corset (lace up) or strapless bra???


I went to Mary's today. They didn't have anything in my size in stock. They told me to try Georgettes in Hicksville and if they didn't have anything, then to come back and they would do some 'heavy'alterations on a strapless.

I was just wondering though if any of you girls are actually wearing a 'corset'? I'd prefer that, but I don't know if you guys are just referring to a strapless as a corset.

I went to Mary's last week and highly highly recommend them. I got what the call a torsolette(sp?)
Its a strapless long line bra that goes to just below my belly button. It has a lot of bones (8-10). They fited me and altered it on the spot - but I'll go back again in Sept. because I've been losing weight.
I saw your centerpiece -- I love it!! John's making up a second sample for us - adding green hydrangeas to make it fuller. WE'll see it next week. We also started dance lessons on Weds. nights -- it's been fun! Other than that, busy busy busy!

Jenny - I'm looking to buy a dress similar to yours. What kind of undergarments were they suggesting and how much were they charging?

The corset I got there is not lace up. It has actual bra hooks, but it goes all the way down to my hips and is cut low in the back. It's like a long line bra. Does that help?

Lea, I went there today and waited for 2 hours, only to be told to try Georgettes. While at Mary's, I tried on the ones you're talking about. They just didn't have anything w/my cup size. (Darn boobs! I knew I should have got rid of them!!! )

John and I were talking about how you've been MIA! I assumed it was the wedding and new home. Did you find inserts that your guests can take home for your centerpiece? Did you take any pics of your 1st sample!?! Where are you taking dance lessons? Here in Huntington?

Ughh -- sorry you had to wait with no luck! We found these candle holders at crate and barrel - we're going to use thelarge ones as a vase with a green hydrangea for each couple.

Olgaki - The long line strapless (or corset) that I got there was around $50 including the alterations.

I got a corset that has hooks and a zipper - it was almost $100, but it takes 2 inches off my waste, so I figured it was worth it.

I am so clueless when it comes to undergarments. I recently saw one that looked like a regular strapless bra with a long lycra additiion to it - it looked like a white minidress. I don't know if that makes any sense but I was thinking about something like that.
