When you go away, do you take or get something from wherever you go?
The reason I ask this is because DH and I have been traveling a lot lateley and everywhere we go I have to take or buy something from where we are. For example, when we went to Vegas, I had to get a book of matches from every hotel/casino we went in to. And along our trek across the United States, I had to get a postcard from every state. DH collected pens from every hotel we went to. And I admit, I took a towel from one hotel we stayed at, it was a nice one though!! We went to Mohegan Sun this weekend and I had to take something from the hotel that said Mohegan Sun, so I took these little drink stirrers that said Mohegan Sun. I like taking stuff to remeber places I have been and all the wonderful experiences I have had. I plan to make a huge scrapbook of our honeymoon with all the stuff I collected across the country.
So, do you take or have to buy something everywhere you go??

We collect Christmas Ornaments from all of our travels.

I used to take a washcloth from any hotel I stayed at ... don't ask me why cause I have no idea!!!

In my single days I collected shot glasses from everywhere I went, I have sooooo many.
When DH and I go away we collect christmas ornatments (although I can't find Arubas) and magnets

We collect Christmas ornaments and magnets. I also get a postcard from each place and place in it the photo album before the pictures of that place.

We usually buy a magnet and a shot glass for every place we go to.

Yes, I'm a packrat. I don't have any specific things I collect, but I have to get something everywhere I go!

Yes, if it has a practical use. Usually Christmas ornaments. I used to, but DH is a neat freak and hates clutter.

Since I love to scrapbook, I usually take matchbooks and buy postcards for the different we have gone to.

I usually buy a nice postcard from everywhere I've been, since my own pictures never seem to do anythign justics.. and usually some magnets, and/or somthing 'specific' to the region we've been in .. food / alcohol particular to the city/country, etc.
My entire bulletin board at work is now COVERED with postcards from all my travels, and my refrig at home is covered as well ... time to find new things to collect

Got a postcard from every state we went through when Jim & I drove up from Houston with my car.
I have the souviner drink glasses and stirs from the observation place in Niagra Falls.
I got glassware from EVERY place I've even been to on my own. (New Orleans, Chicago, Philly, Orlando, Tamp, Vegas, San Fran, Dallas, Houston, DC, St. Louis)
And Jim and I now buy something on all our trips too. (Nashville, back to Vegas, NH, PA, NJ, etc)
I love stuff. Love Memories.
My parents have all my glassware and stuff up to my move to NYC. I have the rest. It's nearly a clear split of 'Before & After Jim' heh

We get magnets and usually something for our house. Like a vase, picture frame, etc...
