When you go to a wedding do you...

Find out what color the BMs are wearing so you don't wear the same color???

We are going to a wedding of one of FH's HS friends this weekend (they are all in CT), and I was planning to wear a navy dress. My mother was all 'well what if the BMs are wearing navy?'

I honestly never thought of this before. Clearly I won't look like a BM, its a short dress, but is it bad if we end up matching?

I am having brown BM dresses, and I wouldn't expect all guests to avoid brown for this reason.

Curious as to what the general thoughts are on this.

I barely know the bride, so I don't feel comfortable calling and asking her opinion.

I don't worry about it, unless I specifically know the color and then I try to stay away from it.

no, ive never went out of my way to findout what the BM's were wearing... i would never expect anyone to do that either... at my sisters wedding one of my BILs friends girlfried wore the same dress as the BM's but in a different color... its really not that big of a deal

Never, I don't think its a big deal if someone is wearing same color/style as bridesmaids.

If I know the color, I wouldnt wear it. But I wouldnt go out of my way to find out the color.

Me too. BUT - if you want to wear navy, then wear navy. It's dark enough that no one will care. It's not like you want to wear hot pink and the bmaids are also wearing hot pink you know?

I've never went to a wedding and decided on what dress to wear according to the bm's. I don't think it really matters since it would be a lil unrealistic of a bride to expect the guests to avoid a certain color. Wear whatever you want and have a great time at the wedding! :)
