when you met with your officiant...what did you do? lol
We are meeting with Rev. Deb next week and have no idea what to expect. For those of you not having a religious ceremony, what did you talk about with your officiant...did they ask you questons? share! help!

When I met with the officiant (we're not having a religious ceremony but we are personalizing it) we spoke about our relationship, how we met, what we love about one another, etc and snippets of that will be included in the ceremony. We chose the layout, the readings, etc.

when you talked bout why you love one another were you in the room together? did you write it out? thats what im curious about!

Actually it was during tax season and FH couldn't make it. I gave the officiant my version and he emailed his. But if he were able to make it, the officiant would have expected us each to speak our piece in the room together.

I went a while ago but I can't remember the questions, but it was kinda like a quiz where FH answered questions in the room without me, then the deacon asked me the same questions without FH there. But I don't think it was about why you love eachother. I think it was more on the lines of the future relationship. A few that stick out in my mind were he asked FH if he feels threatened that I have more schooling then him and He asked me if it was a problem that FH works crazy hours, thats really all I remember

Pastor April. She was terrific! Unfortunately nothing is set in stone yet because she won't be able to accommodate us if the start time of our ceremony changes (which is likely). I've heard great things about Rev. Deb!

ohh...i hope it works out for you..pastor april was fantastic at a wedding we just went to...i hear she and rev. deb are very similar which makes me SO excited! we wanted our ceremony to be very personalized and unique to us!

yes, we have pastor april and we were side by side on the couch like 'okay, so gina, what is it about vinny that you love the most.... give me 5 things' LOL I was like uhhhhhhhhh.... its like not questions you think about on an everyday basis... like i dont freakin know... we just mesh very well together

when we met with pastor april she really did all the questioning...we had no idea. I had wrote down a few things but she went step by step through each thing and we just answered her...it was really relaxed and we had a great time...I am sure it will be the same for you....just go and have fun.
If you have anything specific that you want or don't want just tell them upfront.
