When you send out an invite for the RD....

When you send out an invite for the RD....

Since we are only having the RD include the BP and our parents (b/c we can't afford to invite anyone else), if we were to send out an invitation do we say 'only the BP to attend' or should I just not send anything at all and just tell everyone that it's just the BP and when to show up?

I wanted to send out these cool invitations that I found, but I didn't want to have to write 'only bridal party attendees' and leave peoples wives and girlfriends out.

What do you think?

That's a tough one! I have asked some of my friends about this because I am faced with the same situation as you and what I have been told is that you shouldn't leave out wives and husbands. So I decided to invite them but luckily for me, its only 3 additional people. I think its completely ok to leave off girlfriends and boyfriends and I have seen that a lot but it is a sticky situation about cutting out husbands and wives.

If you can't invite any of the additional people, I would just tell your bridal party. Def. send the invitation you love but I wouldn't put bridal party only on it. Verbally tell them.

well...IMO...either invite wives/husbands/longtimes gfs/bfs or dont. I struggled with this at first too because where do you draw the line. For instance...i am not married yet but i am engaged...so if i was a bm...would i get to bring my fh to the rd or no? I think it has to be all or nothing. luckily for me the fil's are paying for this party and said to invite everyone with a date...BUT...if they hadnt I think its perfectly acceptable to invite just the bridal party...no dates...whether they are married or not....

Yeah, it is tough , but I can't afford to pay for 20 more people. My FMIL just basically promised she could do everything in the beginning and now when it came down to talking about doing these things, she told me she couldn't afford it. So now this is what I am stuck with hah

I will just let them know that we are doing the rehearsal and then going to dinner afterwards. The only 'couple' that will be there are the two that are actually in the BP. :) TY!
