Now that I'm off, each AF is so painful at least the first 2 days. I'm just not used to these cramps. I never got them on the pill.
Did this happen to anyone else?

Absolutely. One of the reasons I went on the pill was to regulate AF and help with all the PMS symptoms, including horrible cramps. Before I conceived and after the birth until I went back on was just so so painful.
Take some advil, a hot bath and rest.

Yup...happened to me.
On the pill, I forgot what PMS was!
Now it's a killer headache the day before and cramps the day of. I find that af stays around longer-on the pill it was 3 days, off close to 6.

When I went off the pill I thought I would get cramps, because I did badly before I went on the pill. I have been off the pill for months now and get very little.

When I went off in October my periods were MUCH heavier and crampier.
