When you went to book your florist

did they tell you to wait til you picked your bm dresses out and then book? I know the colors I want but, havent shopped for bm dresses yet!!!

We discussed what we needed and what type of flowers. I had my bm dresses by the time we booked, however I was told it wouldn't be necessary until a month before my wedding, which is when they would do the sample centerpieces and we discuss them in more detail.

No, I booked my florist a few months ago and I havent even started looking for BM dresses! Thats kinda crazy! As long as you have an idea of the color scheme that you want, it shouldnt be an issue. You can always change your flowers, nothing is written in stone. GL!

You can give them a general idea of the colors you'll use. that's what we did.

If they change, you're quote may change a bit as well.

Booked the florist before the BM dress was picked.
I let my sister choose her dress, it just had to be a fall appropriate color. We think alike so that was no problem. The flowers could be worked around that.
If you want specific flowers in specific colors, then yes, you need to have a firm idea of the color of the BM dresses.

No they didnt tell me to get my BM dresses tho it is recommended you pick and decide on your dresses first.

only b/c this helps them help you decide on what colors and types of flowers you want.

that is the only reason they recommend you have your dresses picked out so that you dont change things and have to start all over again. me I picked my flowers first b/c i could NOT pick a color for the BMs, so when I did pick out my dress I kept them matching my flowers. But, I KNEW i wanted pink peonies so it made ita little easier

I didn't think you had to have the dresses picked out, but it is a good idea to know your color scheme. When I finalized everything, I brought in a fabric swatch

I was told to pick my BM dresses first as well. I think it makes sense. I know that I want red for my BM dresses, but there are many shades of red and I want t o make sure that my flowers wil match.

I didn't have my BM dresses by the time I booked but I knew what color palate they were going to be and I promised him a swatch of what the material would be, etc.

I told all my girls to save the fabric from their gowns so that we can possibly do something with it.

I told my florist what colors I'm using, and she still wouldn't sign any contract with me till I brought her a color sample from my BM dresses.

...Good thing, too, since I've changed my mind since then and the girls are wearing blue instead of yellow!

I booked my florist back in may and have just now picked out my bridesmaid dresses. The flowers can always be changed a bit, but it was more important to like the work of the florist we were working with and make sure that person can be secured for person for the day.
