when your parents met FH's parents?

When your Fh parents met your parent. How did it go? How did you feel?

When my parents met my Fh's parent I was so nervous b/c I never had my parent met my BF's parents ever when i dated. So my FMIL invited them over for a BBQ and everyone on my FMIL side was there to see me suffer LOL. Well when they came it was even more nervous and I introduced them and then they hit it off and everything was fine and now they are great friend together. Which is great. Also that was a great relief to have that over with LOL

Just happened about 3 weeks ago...

FFIL was pissed off about something and was NOT in a good mood. But FMIL smoothed everything over-shes really nice.

After everyone had a few wines, we were fine. it was a little awkward at first but it worked out great. My mom really liked MIL and MiL liked my mom too. So things actually went ok.

Have your parents met his parent yet?

I think we were all that way, nervous and then as soon as they met we were fine and everything works out.

I was dyiiiiiiiing inside when my FH's parents pulled into the driveway to visit. I was so nervous. Within seconds of meeting eachother however they were blabbing away in Italian like old friends. There were a few awkward silences but my FMIL is good at keeping conversations going thankfully and things recovered quickly. We're all going over their house tonight...so round two...wish me luck lol.

well FH was in a motorcycle accident so our parents actually met at the hospital.....it wasnt the greatest way to meet but i think that is the first time they actually saw eachother and talked.....then when my parents moved to Florida about 2 years ago FH and I got our apartment together so our parents saw eachother a few times then as well......now when my Mom visits she stays with FH and I and she visits with FH's Mom and Dad and we all go out together. FH's family can get on my nerves a little in the same sense that your own parents can get on your nerves but I love them - they are so good to us and they are so excited about the wedding - my Mom really likes them - she knows that they are good to us and she likes that they are there for me since I don't have parents close to home.... I am so glad that they get along!

My mother and FMIL met went to a food taste a couple of months ago with FH and I. On our way back after we dropped off FMIL my mother turned around and say, She doesn't mind going out just not with FH's mother. Ouch

My situation is very different...I have been with FH since 10th grade..knew him since 9th so our parents use to drive us to one anothers houses all the time...and that is how the parents met... there wasn't one day set aside for the 'meeting of parents.'

My mother hasnt met FIL's but I do now know how thats going to go down. My mother asked FH when is she going to me his parents. But then my mother doesnt get along well with certain people. But oh well I'll post u guys when it happens.

well my FH parents are split so my parents have met his parents on diff occasions, my FMIL lives in florida so when she was up 2 yrs ago they met, and my FFIL met my parents informally a few months after we started dating, and formally just a few months ago...
