Why was their slogan EVER 'The milk chocolate melts in your mouth, not in your hand'? Cause they totally melt in your hand. Who makes a slogan that is totally not true and easily proven to not be true?

Well, I heard that they were the candy they used to send to the Soldiers on the front line. They could eat the M&m's and it wouldn't melt in their hands like Regular Chocolate does. The Soldiers needed not to have sticky hands to shoot their gun.
This is what I heard not sure if it the truth or not!

Yes, I discovered this one hot summer afternoon many moons ago. I tested their slogan and was horribly disappointed. However the chocolately goodness outweighs my values and so I continue to love those yummy Ms!!!

i usually just eat them before they have a chance to melt. especially the peanut ones....YUM....

We are curious by nature. They knew that we'd want to test it out.
I wanted to support this with a picture of jello shots using assorted ratios of vodka to jello but it's lost in the NWR archives.

it should have been- 'takes longer to melt in your hand than regular chocolate' jerks. but M&Ms are a way safer hot day snack
