Where and I find designer dresses (samples are good too) for cheap?

Where and I find designer dresses (samples are good too) for cheap?

Are there any stores that specialize in this? Or any websites?

I'm in love with the Melissa Sweet dress in my album, but I can't fork over enough to cover the pretty price tag that comes with it....

Thoughts?

(And I don't think a trunk sale would save me enough money so that I could actually afford it....but maybe I'm wrong? How much of a discount do you get at a trunk sale??)

Thanks ladies

I wish I could help, but don't find. When you find out let me know!

I don't know much about them, but Bridal Garden (in Manhattan, around the corner from Kleinfeld's) is a non-profit organization that makes money for charity selling donated wedding gowns. They say that some are donated by designers (and thus unworn) but I'm not sure if they all are. I've come across their website a few times:

Bridal Garden

I guess it's worth a look?

Great - please let me know if you do. I'm not ready to shop for a dress for another six months or so, and I've been thinking of checking out that place.

let me know how bridal garden goes...you have to make an appointment if you want to see their dresses, you can't just walk in. I keep meaning to and just haven't gotten around to it. I'd like to hear your opinion, I hear it's hit or miss.

You should try the wedding center in commack. They have alot of gowns for like almost 1/2 the price. I saw an eve of milady i love. it's $6500 in bridal reflections and only $4300 in the wedding center. you should give them a call.

my friends sister got a bergdorf dress that was $5000 for $400 when they had a sample sale in nyc...so it's worth a shot

it might have been worn to model...but the cleaner was able to make it look brand new

and it doesnt hurt to ask the designer cuz u never know what theyll be able to offer you.

what about finding a different designer with a similar dress? thats what i have to do cuz im only looking to spend between 500-800 on a dress since its going to cost a small fortune to get it altered since im barely 5 foot tall!... should be interesting! and def try gown find. shes got great prices!
