So since we booked the florist I think the next we need to tackle is invites. I just requested some catalogs.
Where are you girls getting your invites? How far in advance do they need to be ordered? thanks.

i can't find anything I like.
I think I'll order mine about 4 months before the wedding. Send them out like 2 months before....? Not sure.

this is really hard. I keep going back and forth with making them myself. I might visit a few invitation places just to see how much I can get them done for since I have a whole bunch of other DIY's to take on. If I find anyone I like I'll pass on the info

from what i hear most places dont take that long to send them to you .. i would say to order them min. 2 months before you want to send htem out ... someone is making mine for me ... i could not find anythign i liked in any of the invitaion places so i am no getting them custom made for me and its still taking me forever to decide

Thanks! That would be fab! I considered doing them myself, but after doing the eparty invites, and the save the dates I changed my mind! Its too much work with a sucky a** printer.
we ordered ours from dazzling affairs. the process was pretty painless. she came to our house w/ about 4 or 5 books of invites, and FH and I looked through each one, and narrowed it down to about 5. it took us about 1.5 hours to decide. we probably could have done more shopping around, but we found that ordering online was tricky because the few samples we ordered, we didn't like the quality. by doing it in person, we saw the quality, and were able to compare side by side. we ordered them in sept, got them two weeks later, and now we're having the calligraphy done so we can mail them by the first week of december.

I'm scared of the quality as well. Thats why I really only want to look at online places that will send samples. But thanks. If you don't mind me asking how much were they? Feel free to FM.

we spent about $450 for 75 invites, response cards, printed return on the outer envelope, lined inner envelope, tissue, and proofs. that was about the middle of the road price wise.

Its tough because I wanna find someone who will do my invites, table cards, placecards, menus, etc. I want to have it all tied together.
Also, I've found that the quality of paper I've seen some samples of is crapola. So frustrating considering the price.
did you ever try myjeanm.com? they have every color imaginable and you can get everything you mentioned to to coordinate with each other
