Where and When to Get Married???

Where and When to Get Married???

I got engaged in June and I'm just about to start planning for the big day.
Any advise that anyone has is welcome!

I'm thinking between October and early December of 2012.

I want to be the only bride and this is an interfaith Marriage so it needs to be all in one place.

We live in Nassau, but would go East, West or North for the right venue.

Congrats on your enagagement and welcome to the LIW boards. As far as advice, do you research. Go online then contact venues to set up appts. There is board on here that has reviews from past brides that are awesome.

Congratulations and welcome! There are sooo many great venues out there. We first thought about the type of place we wanted...ie: country, elegant, quaint, etc.... then picked a few that met that criteria and made appts. We only looked at 2 places before we booked the ours. You will know when you find the one! Good luck!

heres a mini review

All my vendors did an amazing job, if you have any questions feel free to contact me!

DUET-I didnt get the proofs back yet but Kevin, Toe and Sean were great to work with and did an amazing job trying to follow my must take list.

Floral terrace catering hall-We got so much for our money and our dj Genesis Events was included in our package.

Camelot limo-For the ride home we were just supposed to have a regular 4 door sedan for my husband and I and a regular lincoln limo for the family.
He sent us both suv limos at the end of the night. This was a nice suprise!!!

Oksana makeup-AMAZING!!! she is so talented , just trust her and she will work her magic.

Beautiful Brides by Lauren-My hair was AMAZING!!

Honeymoon-Excellene Punta Cana-amazing resort!!!

Rk Bridal-Dress and Veil-Everything was great, I ordered my dress a year and a half before my wedding and they held it and alterations were great!!

Bridesmaid dresses-Alexandra's boutique austin street-no problems and the cheapest around.

Jets Garter/ Game over Tshirt-Esty-if you want the name of the person, let me know. both came out great!

Shoes-endless.com-loved them!

Name Plaque-Channa of course! I bought this a year and a half before my wedding and it still looks great!

Earrings-Nadri(lord and taylor)
Bracelet-Eliot Danori(macys)

We're interfaith as well, but I had my ceremony at church.

I LOVED The Inn at New Hyde Park. I can't say enough about that place. 1 Wedding at a time and absolutely gorgeous

I've been to weddings at North Ritz Club and Inn at NHP (GORGEOUS) - both with ceremonies and they were great! Flowerfield is another one wedding venue, but it's out east. Good Luck in your search!

I def agree! this is the way to go. there are so many places and so many 'feels' that to help you narrow it down, think about the kind of affair you want (modern, classic, vintage), the price you want to pay, and go from there.

Since you are having an interfaith ceremony, I'd like to mention that having a wedding AFTER Thanksgiving will be decorated for Christmas. This may not be something you are looking to have. So that is something to keep in mind.

And some places raise their fees because they are already catering to holiday parties as well.

Your 100% right! And I have already considered it. We may actually end up doing a September 2012 wedding, just we haven't booked it yet.
It's Labor Day Weekend so I want to talk to some Vendors before I commit to a Holiday weekend.

Hello! I'm having an interfaith ceremony at the Vineyard in Aquebogue....they also only cater to one wedding at a time......this could be a really pretty setting for the fall, but it is pretty far east. Just a thought!
Prices are super reasonable.

If you get married Labor Day weekend, you will find cheaper rates for Sunday night. But, hotels may be much more expensive, if you have OOT guests, and they may make you book for 2 nights.

September is becoming the most popular month for brides, so there may not be much left. But vendors that aren't booked already will be willing to work with you.

Look into The Riviera in Massapequa. One event at a time, with an outdoor gazebo on the water.
