We haven't put down a deposit yet, but I'm really leaning towards The Swan Club. They gave me a quote of $65pp++ for a Saturday night sit down in the Garden room for March 15, 2014.
Anyone else book here? What room did you book? Who's your BM? We have Stephanie, and she's been good so far.

I wanted to book Swan Club as well but we didn't but we dealt with Stephanie. We were going for the Camelot room I believe. It was there biggest room. We were quoted 65++ for march and for prime months it was 95++ and if u did the upgrade it was 30 dollars more.

I would like to, but our only car is in the shop, and we don't know if we're getting it back by Thursday. I work in Manhattan, so getting there can be a beeotch without FH and his car. I'm gonna have to play it by ear. I really want to go though.

@Teampuppy, why didn't you book with them? Is it something you didn't like? I love everything about the but the cakes. I'm not happy with how they look. I'm gonna ask when we sign the contract if we can substitute the cake with something else. I have a friend who turned me on to a baker friend of hers, and we're most likely going with them for the cake.

I'm not happy with their cakes either. I've seen a few pictures and they don't really look pretty. They recommend Leonetti's for specialty cakes so I am thinking about going there since FH and I go there a lot.
When I called to register for the showcase, the lady told me that people will be able to sample cakes made by the Swan Club so I guess I will be able to see and taste the cakes in person.
But other than that, I love the Swan Club! The grounds are absolutely gorgeous!

They were my top one even before I was engaged I fell in love with it but then we went to Westbury Manor and we got a great deal and I felt it was roomier. Also Swan Club room held 220 and our invite list was 240 so I felt it maybe a tight squeeze. Another thing was the bathrooms the stalls were very small and I didn't see a handicap stall.

@jsh109, if I can't make the showcase, will you FM me with what you thought? Leonetti's is their preferred vendor, right? They're kinda pricy for me. But beggers can't be choosers, I suppose.

Bathrooms? Did they look like school bathrooms, or were they nicer? Concerned about that now.

I don't really see how the Camelot Room can hold 220. I am hoping I end up having about 180 max so that everyone won't be squished.

We didn't have the minimum for the Camelot room. We were originally going with the Contessa Room, but it's since been booked. They penciled us in for the Garden Room right now. Both that and Contessa have a minimum of 100, with Contessa maxing out at 140 and Garden maxing out at 160.

They didn't even bother showing me the Garden Room when I went to visit because my guest list was over their maximum. But I have seen pictures and videos of the room and it's very nice! I like the fact that it has its own private bathrooms and entrances for you and your guests.

Yes, I agree. When we toured, we only got to see Contessa, and it was nice. But now that we've pretty much got the Garden room, I can see how much nicer it is. More windows looking out over the gardens makes it brighter. And to be honest, I like the chairs much better. I may forego the linens on the chairs, actually. The Contessa had different chairs, and I would want linens covering them. We didn't get to see the Camelot room. I do like the Cocktail hour room that is adjacent to the Contessa. Don't know how we're gonna do the Cocktail hour. March is a tough month, and I don't think we'll be able to do it outside, unless Mother Nature decides to let me have a beautiful day.

We only seen the big room due to our party size wouldn't fit anywhere else. The only bathrooms I knew of were the ones in the lobby area. The stalls were small and I just thought if I have to go to the bathroom I'll have to go up the stairs to the bridal suite because how was I fitting in a stall with my dress. They don't have a bathroom attendant or an amenities basket but did tell us we can put one in there but then it put me off due to the fact other people from other events could use what I put out for my guests. Plus the handicap stall was important for me as my mom needs a hadicap stall as well as some others who prefer the extra room to manuever. Maybe it's just me I have a thing for how bathrooms are. Lol. Otherwise I loved Swan Club.

I'll be sure to look at the bathrooms when we go back there. I'll have a lot of questions. Thanks for the info. Now I have to put together bathroom baskets. Something else to add to the budget.

I would ask if there are any other events booked on your day if that matters to you.
I have to say - even though the cake looked a little lopsided, it was delicious! I may just stick with the cake that the Swan Club offers so that I can save a little money. As my FFIL said, no one will notice the cake anyway since everyone will be drunk by that point!
