Will the hotel be closer to your home? Church (ceremony site)? or RH?
FH thinks it would be better to have the hotel block near our home, but then the OOT guests will have to travel at least 40 minutes to get to the church and RH. I was talking with my Mom and she says it's better to have the Hotel close to the RH, so it limits the travel time.
I think I know why FH wants to have it close to home; he's thinking of the brunch the next day and us having to travel so much, but it's really not about us, but about the OOT guests right?

Re: Where are you booking your hotel blocks?
Our hotel is about equal distance from our RH and our home, but definitely at least a 20 minute ride to the church.

Re: Where are you booking your hotel blocks?
I wanted the Hyatt in Hauppauge but my SIL works for Hyatt and there is a financial obligation if the rooms aren't blocked
I was thinking a Hilton or Holiday Inn near Smithtown now.

Re: Where are you booking your hotel blocks?
my mom and i were going back and forth with this for months!!!! we finally just decided to do it closer to the RH, we went our OOT guests to have a great time and not worry about driving to a hotel closer to our home at the end of the night.

Re: Where are you booking your hotel blocks?
We're booking them close to home for two reasons.
1. I had to be a PITA and book the ceremony location close to home while the reception location is about 1/2 hour away. So the hotels are going to be close to the ceremony/our houses.
2. We have a LOT of OOT guests coming from Ireland and England who will be here as early as a week before the wedding. I'm sure they'd rather be close to us rather than being out by the reception hall with nothing to do and no car to get around.
We will, however, be providing a coach bus for oot guests to get from the hotel to the church to the reception and back.

Ahhh this is like my situation: Overseas guests (plus out of state too). How much is the Coach bus costing you if you don't mind me asking? What company did you use?

Unfortunately, I haven't booked it yet! LOL! I've heard good things about Academy and Custom Coach though so those are the first two I'm looking at. But since really any coach bus will do, I'm saving that for the last thing to book.

Re: Where are you booking your hotel blocks?
We are doing them at the hotel next door to the RH, plus we are having our ceremony at the RH, so there is no traveling for guests
