Where can I find a Coop or Condo in Queens that allows dogs?

A friend of mine and her DH would like to buy an apartment in Queens. They need at least a 2 bedroom and they have 2 yorkies so the building has to be pet friendly.

Does anyone have any recommendations.

Thanks.

I lived in the The Berkeley in Jackson Heights and it allowed all pets. (I'm not sure who the management co is now but it used to be Alexander Wolf (?) in Plainview).

I believe Glen Oaks co-ops allow dogs & they are pretty big.

Just make sure you check with the co-op board before you just assume that a place 'allows' them.

There are tons of people with dogs in my complex... but they supposedly 'don't allow them' and they make you sign a no-pet waiver when you move in.

They can't get rid of the people that already have the dogs... so they have to wait till they move out.

Just because you see people with dogs around one complex... doesn't mean that the complex allows pets. Make sure you check with the board and management office if the place is 'pet friendly'.

My complex Langdale Gardens allows pets.

My grandma lives in the co-ops Grandview Towers in Elmhurst--they allow dogs under 25 lbs.

Thanks everyone! I will tell my friend to double check w/management about dogs.

Definitely check with the management company.

My management company has a no pets rule. However, when you look up into the windows you can see cats in some of them. The realtor we were working with said its just a don't ask dont tell policy with cats....but dogs are tougher to sneak in.

I even see people coming in and out of my building with dogs ....we have 1 cat! But some of the dogs may have been grandfathered in when the building went Co-op.

Alley Pond Owners Corp in Oakland Gardens (Bayside) allows pets. I know Glen Oaks didn't in the past. They may have changed their rules.
