where can I get???

A hall that just offers a cocktail hour type reception. No sit down dinner?? I also need this place to offer the option of having the wedding outdoor. Thanks!!

I think most restaurants....rather than a catering hall would offer this sort of reception.

Alot of venues will do this...say that you are looking for 'stations' as opposed to a sit down dinner. It normally includes all of the fun 'extras' offered for the cocktail hour at more traditional affairs.

I know East Wind offers it and it is call 'Around The World.'

That was the exact thing I wanted and first we looked in Manhattan (the prices were thru the roof) and then as we came out onto LI we noticed that a FEW places offer this but it wasnt somrthing they did often and they did NOT seem excited about it and most places also cost ALOT more bc of all the food they have to constantly prepare.
Did you look into the Deseversky Mansion? We did and I wasnt too crazy about it bc I didnt think it could adequately hold the amt. of guests I was having

Bourne Mansion has a cocktail reception option, and it it less than the sit down dinner.

A co-worker of mine told me that at the hall where I'm having my wedding - Marina Del Rey - she went to a corporate dinner where it was just a cocktail reception all night.

They have an outdoor area with a gazebo and a view of the water as well as 2 bridges. The indoor rooms are beuatiful as well. It was renovated this year. HTH - FM me if you want more info - I'll give you the name of my BM

IF you want something totally different Atlantis Marine World where I got married and had the reception does this.

I'm not 100% positive, buti think the Metropolitan in Glen Cove can do this. it won't hurt to check.

NO WAY!!! I am asking for someone at work. She is planning on having a small 'coctail-hour like' recepetion and she asked me to post to all of you gals!!!

Cluelessbride had a cocktail style reception at Danfords on the Sound in Port Jefferson. And Danfords has a courtyard where the ceremony or cocktail reception can take place.

THE DESEVERSKY CENTER IN OLD WESTBURY DOES THIS. IT'S CALLED THE 'MANSION STYLE WEDDING.' IT COSTS THE SAME AS HAVING A SIT DOWN DINNER AND YOU CAN GET MARRIED OUTSIDE ON THE PATIO. THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPING.

THE BOURNE MANSION IN OAKDALE DOES THIS. IT'S CALLED THE 'GREAT GATSBY STYLE WEDDING' AND IT COSTS LESS THAN A SIT DOWN DINNER. I DON'T THINK YOU HAVE THE OPTION OF GETTING MARRIED OUTSIDE, BUT THE MANSION IS SO BEAUTIFUL INSIDE THAT IT DOESN'T MATTER! YOU CAN HAVE COCKTAILS AND SEATING OUTSIDE.
