My ceremony is going to be at St. Joseph's in Babylon at 3pm (not having a full mass), my reception is going to be at Chateua La Mer. CH begins at 6pm, anyone have any suggestions on where we can take pictures?? I could go to Argyle Park (across the street from church) but I'd really rather not. Everyone I know has gone to Argyle & everytime I see pictures I think to myself...when are they going to paint the 'picture area'. It looks old & dated. Sorry if this is where anyone was planning on taking their pics...this is strictly MY personal opinion

What about going over to Captree overlook or one of the beaches? It's like 15 minute ride from there. The only problem with Venetian is that Bergen Point is right there so that's not the nicest of backgrounds but it is close and decent photographer will manage to get that out of the way. The Arboretum is only like 20 mins away too. Or even Heckscher isn't too far.

I was also looking for places to take pictures after the ceremony and a photographer suggested Venetian Shores. I haven't been there in about ten years but supposedly they redid it and it looks awesome. Overlook Beach is also beautiful, if you are a town of Babylon resident you go to this beach. Of course you'll be in a limo and the sticker would be on your car but I am sure you can call the Town of Babylon and ask them if you can use the beach for pictures.

I was just in a wedding 3 weeks ago and we took pics at Venetian Shores after the ceremony...the limos didn't have a sticker the drivers just told the people at the booth it was a wedding party and they let us right in. The beach was beautiful!

Yay!!! I hope we have a beautiful sunny day. I'm not asking for it to be hot, just sunny. Are you having a full mass or just the ceremony? I'm sure that if we end up at the same location we can share... The More the Merrier...

Yup - I'm having a full mass too- so maybe we'll have to take a group picture!!!!
Personally, I'm going to stay away from Argyle. I was bike riding down there a couple of weeks ago, and when you look at it closely, they really aren't taking care of the white bridge with all the steps -
the water level is low, so it is stained a rusty color from where the water used to be, really needs some paint, and then there's the goose poop all over the bottom of a very expensive gown
The gazebo across the street is nice though......

Venetian Shores is nice. They did redue everything BUT the sand it still ***** I live 5 mins away from there so i go there often for there sprinkler park, if you do deside to go there just avoid the sand...
