and do they do it in front of you?

Any good jewler will do it in front of you - do a search. This was posted about a month ago

The Jewelry Judge in Garden City is 'the' place...all they do are independent appraisals right in front of you. You get an entire write up on your ring (or whatever your getting appraised) and a complete written appraisal...good for insuring etc...I don't have their number, but here is the web address:
