Re: where did everyone take their pictures.............
i took them at old westbury gardens. came out great. our church was at 2:30 and the reception at 6. But i had to go from brooklyn to longisland. I had to cut our mass down to a ceremony to have enough time, and i still got to westbusy gardens 30 mins late. they were great and worked around the time problem with us. i would give them a call. it really depends on how close you are to the gardens. If you can swing it, do it....the pictures from the gardens are amazing,

Hello hall twin!!
I took my pictures at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. They have beautiful grounds and it's only $50 for the permit and you pay for parking the day of. The website is:
I loved the VYC. Everything worked out beautifully.
One suggestion though. Don't pick the chilean sea bass as one of your entrees. I didn't love it. The filet mignon was to die for!

yeah i will give them a call b/c my church is in garden city which is pretty close by but my reception hall is in suffolk- i might consider cutting my church mass into a ceremony b/c we have to be on the road no later than 6pm. i will see b/c i also wanted to take pics at venetian shores but i think that will be pushing it. maybe just old westbury & get pictures done at venetian- what do u guys think about the planting fields & venetian shores?

I'm a VYC bride too. We're having our ceremony there so we are taking pics at Old Westbury Gardens before the ceremony.
My guess is that you wouldn't have enough time in between. The pic session at Old Westbury is 90 minutes and it's about 45 minutes from VYC.
Where is your church?

ok what will you guys do- i'm trying to decide- i think i will have a ceremony than a mass- would u take pics at old westbury gardens or take it at a few places: garden city gazebo, planting feld, venetian shores(if we have time) i just think OWG is beautiful but the other places are nice as well

Re: where did everyone take their pictures.............
I would talk to my photographer and my limo driver, tell them the time schedule and see what they think you'll definitely have time to do. OWG is expensive and if you're not going to make use of all the time that you're paying for it might not be worth it.
I was able to get a much better feel for what my day of timeline looked like after I spoke with my photographer and he's the one that suggested OWG because of two reasons:
1. you can never predict the weather and OWG gives you the option of taking indoor pics if the day is rained out
2. I have A LOT of time between my church and my cocktail and I live in Queens and am having a full mass. So we're gonna have to go somewhere before we go to the hall.
and you're welcome!

thats why i want to do OWG b/c if it rains we can use the indoors- i think OWG pictures take 90 minutes or so so we have 2 hrs to kill. i'm feeling OWG more. the one photographer i spoke to said it was fine with the time & we can take pictures at VYC
