I am really regretting my decision to make my own invitations. I tried to take the paper and power point file to Kinkos to print and I was quoted $177 for 150 copies on my own paper. Because they didnt have my font files and couldnt download the ones I brought I left there hoping to change the file to a pdf...but I dont have the program for that. Help! how did you ladies do it and where did you get them printed???

I printed my invites on my own. You can try saving it as a JPEG....

Re: Where did you get your invitations printed?
I got a DIY kit from staples (walmart also has these) and had them printed @ Fed ex kinkos...
Staples also does printing
The kit comes with the template for you to print them yourself but I didnt want to do the work..
I went cheap on the invites bcuz most ppl throw them away...Its a huge waste of Money IMO. I actually wanted to do Evites but My Parents had a big fit so I caved in

Re: Where did you get your invitations printed?
thanks for the answers. I had it in a JPEG which is the reason it was pixelating at Kinkos. I want to print them myself but the cardstock seems to show some fuzzy bleeding around theletters on my inkjet. I'm thinking of just buying a laser jet

Thats so sweet of you to offer. Finally after a couple hours and downloading a new pdf conversion program (first one changed the fonts) I have them converted. but I really appreciate the offer.

It usually doesn't depend on the 'type' of file at any place you go its the size you are charged for... PDF's work best because it imbeds the font in to the file (normally at least they have their snags sometimes lol)
Anyway Ladies try some of your smaller printing places!!! Kinko's and staples are SOOOO over priced! You can usually get a better deal at a smaller local printer!

Re: Where did you get your invitations printed?
I was going to DIY invitations, but after helping my aunt print my cousins, I decided that I was going to pay to have them done. I am using a local printer, and I'm only paying a little bit more than if I made them myself. To me, the few extra dollars was worth it not to have the aggravation

No problem LIW has been so helpful in planning so far it is really the least I could do!

Re: Where did you get your invitations printed?
I spend $350 on a laser printer. I printed all my programs, invites and placecards on it. I know it's a lot more than the printing price from Kinkos but remember the printer is something you get to keep. And if you don't want to keep it, you can always sell it on ebay.
If you still need to convert your invite to a PDF, FM me. I did that for all my DIYs. Good luck!

with the bleeding problem, do you think too much ink is being used? if so, you might try different paper types which may stop that since the amount of ink changes depending on the paper type you choose. If you are printing in black only you will get less ink by specifying black rather than color too. I found that out when I printed mine on vellum.
