Brides to be and past brides: where did you get your invites?
Feel free to post pics of them, experiences, who to meet with, where to go, etc!!
We are going to go shopping for them soon. We would like to work with someone to look through books, decide what we want and place the order. I'm not very good at the online ordering thing so I would prefer a place we can go to in person.
We live in Suffolk and don't mind driving up to 40 minutes away from the Northport/Commack area. I would love to have a salesperson help us to choose the invite (someone who knows a lot about wording and such).
Any suggestions?? TIA!

We went to Lion in the Sun in Huntington to look through the books and pic out the one we wanted...they are really helpful and have a good selection but can be pretty pricey...we ended up ordering the ones we found there online (invitationlane.com) to save on cost but if that's not a huge concern of yours I'd definitely recommend at least stopping in there.

I did the same thing. Found them at Lion In The Sun (the selection is huge) and placed the order at substantial savings through my DOC. My DOC got me a slightly better price than online at princessweddinginvitations.com which were the least exepnsive I found anywhere, because I only paid for one proof instead of hte multiples that were done to get them right!

OK, I would feel safe ordering online if I knew of a good site like what you recommended-- and if I knew exactly what I was ordering (by picking them out at Lion in the Sun)... then I would be able to do it for sure!
You don't have to say exactly how much and I hope you don't mind me asking-- but was the price difference significant??

I agree that I never would have ordered online w/out seeing them in person first.
Lion in the Sun was going to give me like a 10% discount after I said 'I had to think about it'. The Invitationlane.com price was like 33% below the retail cost. I came to at least a couple hundred dollars difference I think for 125 invitations and they were printed and shipped directly from the checkerboard factory so there was no question/difference in quality.

I ordered mine from Party City. They have a good selection but you need to know what you want a head of time really wording wise because they dont have someone to help you there, when you know what they want they just call over a manager to fill out the forms for you. However, they have a good selection and good prices so going there prepared it was a great experience for me.

I ordered mine from Wedding World in Commack and my experience there was great!! They have a huge selection of books to look through!!!!!
