We are going to go shopping for them soon. We would like to work with someone to look through books, decide what we want and place the order. I'm not very good at the online ordering thing so I would prefer a place we can go to in person.
We live in Suffolk and don't mind driving up to 40 minutes away from the Northport/Commack area. I would love to have a salesperson help us to choose the invite (someone who knows a lot about wording and such).
I'm terrified of the online thing BUT maybe I could go to a place to pick them out and then order them online once I have SEEN what I want to save money.

believe it or not--i got mine from The Wedding Center in commack. they gave me a great price. i've heard negative & postive things about their invites. but honestly, i had a great experience. some ppl think you get 'jipped' by them--but i wound up with like 10 extra invitations.
They are from Elite Weddings II catalogue. (you can find that book at any place that does invites) a little pricey, but worth it for me.

I dont know if commack is less than 40 minutes from Oceanside [i think its about that, maybe 45 minutes lol]
I know a great place on Long Beach Road in Oceanside called Just Announce It. My friend Tara owns it, and shes SOOOO great to deal with. She's got a HUUUUUGE selection! But make sure you get the hours before you go, they have a few days closed! If youre interested FM me and I'll get you the phone # and address!

i've been looking all over the place for invites. all i know is that LI Wedding Planners in Commack is very expensive. she said they're discounted but i think she only gave us a 1% discount with the prices she quoted me. i also went to Sincerely Yours in Sayville and her prices were really good. she also has gorgeous invites. she seemed to have the best prices but i'm still shopping around and deciding whether or not i wanna spend big bucks. FM me for her info.
oh and i went to the wedding center in commack. supposedly they have 'the best prices' but i thought they were the same and the lady is mean. but ask for bob, he'll hook you up.

I am getting mine online from wrapwithus.com....I think they are located in Levittown. These are my invitations....

I ordered a bunch of free samples from different websites so that I could see the quality of them beforehand. I can understand not wanting to take a chance with ordering them online though. I'm just trying to be cheap with my invites. I don't want to spend more than $400 and you can get great deals online.

Wow, $2K? You can easily do it for under $1000 if you want to. Remember Nicole's invites? They were beautiful, but they were way under $1k. Invites just aren't that important to me so I'm trying to save money where I can. The ones that I want come to just under $300 for 125 invites.

I ordered 100 invitations (pictured above) from wrpa with us and they ended up being $255 for the invites, envelopes, inner envelopes, reception card, and two response cards with envelopes (one is for the after party). I still have to get ribbon and have the addresses printed on the envelopes, but I thought that was a good deal

i really like the vera wang ones-- that's my problem b/c hers are pricey but they match my whole theme of the wedding (our cutters, our flutes, etc) all the stuff from our registry is vera... so we'll see. my sister spent like 1200 bucks for 180 invites (they were checkerboard) so i figured my budget at 2000 dollars b/c i have 100 guests more.
