Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

And would you recommend that place?

Thanks!

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

We got our cabinets & granite from Consumers Kitchen & Bath near MacArthur - the sales guy we worked with was very pleasant and I think priced okay.

I seem to recall having an issue with someone we met with at Home Depot in Commack ... I think it was that we would make design appts then always still have to wait, so we left.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

My house was a new construction, so we went through the builder for everything. The place they used was LI Stove - very nice people. The guy brings the samples right to your house to look over. After installation, we found a door or two that had a crack or blemish on it - they replaced it with no questions asked. If you want the contact for whom I worked with FM me.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

We got ours from Lowe's in Westbury (by Roosevelt Field) They're shiny white with silver handles. They are easily to clean, all you have to do is wipe them down with a wet cloth.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

We got ours in Home Depot Jericho- special order from Mills Pride (the HD brand)
While the cabinets look fantastic, I do not recommend the Home Depot in Jericho.

Not only did they lose our cabinets IN THE STORE for 3 weeks (yes you read that right... they put them way up on the high shelves and forgot where they put them) so we had to wait until they found them, they also ordered several wrong parts and parts we didn't need, and we received 2 damaged cabinets that basically crumbled! Then we had to wait another period for the special orders to come back in. It was the worst experience for us.

But then again, I've heard people who have ordered in other HD stores and didn't have a problem. So I guess it was our luck. But like I said- HD Jericho was a disaster.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

we also got the home depot brand, and they are great! DH and my uncle put them together and put them up. They look great, and they were about $6,000 less then custom ordering them and at the time that is what we needed something a little less expensive, we will eventually replace them (in 20 years :) ) if we stay in this house.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

IKEA, and believe it or not I would highly recommend them. There were so many choices/options and the kitchen planners were so helpful. FH built them and put them up himself in no time. Saved tons of $$$.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

Home Depot in Patchogue. We orded Kraftmaid cabinets. We had multiple problems with the order but the cabinets are beautiful.
For our corian countertop we ordered from Sterling cabinets in Hauppauge. I would reccommend them for everything. They were very professional.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

Can someone please share their kitchen re-do expenses????

I asked on the kitchen photo thread, and haven't gotten a response .. is anyone willing to share what a kitchen redo might cost???

I know they can get pricey .. I'm hoping I'll see some numbers that make me think 'that's not so bad.'

it depends on what type of kitchen you are looking to do how big it is etc . all places that sell cabinets usually have several lines available some better then others. in my opinion i think kraftmaid is the best home depot sells although ordering from depot can sometimes be a bit confusing for both you and them lol.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

I know a lot of what a redesign costs depends on so many variables .. I was just curious what other people hvae spent on theirs .. if that's not too rude of a question .. I've just seen so many beautiful kitchens here .. and was hoping to maybe be a little inspired that it might actually be possible at some point instead of depressed in thinking it'll be out of our range for a long time.

I certainly don't want to spend time in any stores pricing things out, because I don't want anyone trying to give me a sales pitch, and I know a lot of places don't want to put in the effort of explaining things unless they know they can sell you. And at this stage, we simply can not afford it .. but maybe in the future .. hopefully not too too distant.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

I have heard the average price to totally redo and upgrade a kitchen is $20k. Obviously that depends on the type of cabinets, countertops, appliances, flooring you choose. We went to redo our kitchen, but also want to blow it out about 6-8 feet out the front, thus it will cost us quite a bit. Therefore we are going to wait a couple of years and decide if we are going to stay.

Re: Where did you get your kitchen cabinets?

I am estimating $10K for ours. We have a 'small' kitchen. We are getting a nice countertop but then again it is small. We are also doing most of the work ourselves or having family members do it.
