I got my dress at Kleinfeld's but I really don't want to drive into Manhattan for every fitting. Did anyone have off premises fittings done? If so, what did you think of the experience and can you give me their info? TIA!!!
PS - Prices would be great too!

I don't know that Kleinfeld will even let you take your dress elsewhere for fittings. I also bought my gown there, and wouldn't trust anyone else with it for fittings.
If you do choose to take it out of the store, Cathy Fiorenti is a vendor here and does good work. I'm using her for some bridesmaid cover-ups.

yes they actually do. when i bought my dress the lady that took my measurements recommended someone that will come to my house for the fittings but i don't know that i want my dress in and out of her car! maybe i'll just go the kleinfelds route and drag my azz in to the city...

I'm getting my alterations done through Phyllis at Gownfind. And she is storing the dress for me, so I don't have to lug it every time!! I did that because I wasn't going to drive to Brooklyn everytime for fittings, and when they told me they don't do alterations on the weekends, that was the last straw.

I am not getting fittings done at the store I bought the dress from. I am getting them done by a dressmaker recommended by friends of the family. I don't think she is taking any more clients, so I don't want to give out her name. The store has to let you do your alterations elsewhere, they cannot dictate where you do them. Once you pay for the dress it is yours to do whatever you want with. They might make you sign some kind of disclaimer though that once the dress leaves the store they are not responsible for anything.

I also got my dress at Kleinfelds - the dress isn't in yet (is yours?) but didn't you already pay for the fittings??? I did
