Where do I go to get........

Bridesmaids dresses?

I will begin my hunt soon and my girls will most likely wear different dresses in the same color and fabric.

Where is the best place to go for this?

Is RK Bridal good?

ALSO......Mom's gowns!

Help!!!

Re: Where do I go to get........

Jenn...try Estelle's in Farmingdale for Mom's dresses, my Mom found no joke 7 dresses that looked good on her, we just had to choose the style and color that suit her best. I couldn't believe we hit the jackpot in that place.

Once again I'm saying Wedding Center in Commack, and I would definitely look into Impression Bridals, which is what I'm using to obtain the same look as you.

Re: Where do I go to get........

rk is a good to search...then you have to decide whether or not your girls can go there for fittings or if they can find a seemstress and get it done themselves...

you get 10% usually at your bridal saoln...and I negotiated for 15% off..

my mom got both her dresses for my wedding and my sisters at Lord & Taylors..

Re: Where do I go to get........

I got all mine at RK Bridal and totally recommend them.

The dresses in the shop aren't in the best shape and if you go on the weekend it is crowded and you may feel rushed but they have a ton of dresses. And they will beat any prices...some say they don't really but I have a friend that found a lower price and they beat it! The no frills plan is totally worth it!

Re: Where do I go to get........

i know that there have been many horror stories about davids bridal- but i got my bm dresses there- but altered somewhere else- since everything was a liitle rushed i went with the express dresses- i couldnt be happier with them, all the girls love them (ALL 8 of them) and they fit awesome- hardly any alterations needed, they were very cheap (110$) which also was a big relief.

Re: Where do I go to get........

I am in the same boat right now-BM dresses are my next priority! And I am doing the same thing, same fabrics, colors, different dresses.
So far, I havent found exactly what I want- but have found the most options for this idea with Watters and Watters and Dessy/After Six. They have great websites!

Re: Where do I go to get........

I am also sending the girls to David's. I just hate the idea of having them spend alot of money on a dress that they probably won't wear again. I picked out a dress a few months ago and it was about $110. My SIL also used them and they didn't have any problems, although everyone brought the dresses elsewhere for alterations.

P.S. I was also going to do the same color, different dress idea but read too many horror stories on different boards about this. What if you had five bridesmaids and two picked one dress and the other three all like another? Or four of them all wanted the same one but the fifth wanted something different? I am so anal that unless each bridesmaid had a different dress, it would annoy me all day so I just figured it would be easier to just have them dress the same.
