I was in Boston on a mini vacation this week, and everywhere I went there was a stationary/paper store! I've become inspired to try to start scrapbooking.
So now what? I have 8 million photos from college sitting in a box in my apartment, getting ruined, I'm sure.
Any suggestions?

Re: Where do I start?
You can come to a crop- a bunch of girls get together and work on their pages. Talk to swags1016, she went to her first crop this weekend and I think had a good time. If you tell us where you live, we can tell you what stores are close to you.

Re: Where do I start?
Take a class. I loved the classes at Michaels. I liked them because everyone was a beginner like me, so I didn't feel dopey that I didn't know anything, lol.

The only SB store I know of in Nassau is in Levittown.
Does anyone else know where to start SB'ing in Nassau?

Re: Where do I start?
I know I'm repeating myself, I'm sorry, lol. The Westbury Michaels has great scrapping classes. I've taken a few, including the beginners class. If you're going to take one, sign up ASAP because they fill up. I've been shut out and had to wait. I should tell the teacher that I've been pushing her classes and maybe she'll give me a kickback, lol!!

Re: Where do I start?
Michael's has evening beginning classes. CHeck their site for dates & times.
The Scrapbook Chalet in cold spring harbor has classes as well. www.scrapbookchalet.com
If you know anyone having a creative memories party, or if you want have one yourself. The consultant gives a class at the party.
One of my friends is organizing a crop day on January 31, 2004 in Baldwin. It is being co-organized by a creative memories consultant that will be offering classes and demonstrations.
Or there's the learn as you go method - check out sites like www.lifetimemoments.com www.scrapjazz.com
with galleries and message boards that may give some ideas of how to get started.
Two magazines that IMO are good for beginners are Paper Kuts and Simple Scrapbooks.
Have fun! It's a great hobby!!

Scrapbook Patch is on Hempstead Turnpike in the same plaza as Kohl's & Michaels.
