Where Do I Start???

Where Do I Start???

Ok, so the big day for my and my guy is 7-10-10. We've already booked the places for our ceremony and reception (a big whoo hoo there), but now I'm stuck. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do next. My SIL keeps telling me that I need to start looking for my gown (which I plan to do st the end of this month) But I feel like I should be doing other things as well. I really need some help from somewhere because I cant afford a wedding planner at all, any advice?

flowers and limos can probably wait a little bit, not TOO long though...

I would do gown (which I still have to do) and photog/video.....photogs book quickly. We started looking in August and the photog we wanted to use was already booked for our wedding......

then I would do BM dresses and the dj/band?

Re: Where Do I Start???

I'd say to start with the vendors first (Photog/Video, DJ, then florist, limo, etc.) since they are starting to book up quickly for next summer.

There is also a planning guide on here that can be overwhelming, but useful.

HTH and welcome

Re: Where Do I Start???

Thx Ladies, I have a clearer decision now. I'm definetly gonna get a start on my photo/video first. I dont have to worry too much about DJ, my FBIL is footing the bill and we're using the person he and his wife used at their wedding (he rocked too!)

Do the things first that the vendors can only do one of in one night (i.e. dj, photographer). Then move on to florist, who can do a few weddings in one day.

I agree with the other girls. I am planning my wedding in about six months. I booked the church, then the halll, then the photo/video, dresses. Now I'm looking for a DJ and doing flower appts.

Good luck!!

I say dj/band, then photo/video, then limo's. Your gown you can do sometime inbetween those things.

Re: Where Do I Start???

Congrats!!! Well depending on the dress and if your going with a designer... I would def start looking into dress's. There are some dress's that can take a few months, some that can take 6 months, and some that can take a year to get in. But I would also be working with and setting up appointments with DJ's/ Bands (depending again what your doing) And Photo/Video....

Re: Where Do I Start???

It really depends on what is most important to you. If you realy want a certain photog for your big day, but any DJ with a mic will do, then go for photogs first. I booked my photographer, then my DJ and my dress, then limos, and now working on florists! Good luck! Try not to get overwhelmed- just take it one step at a time.
