Start Looking online for styles you like. If something catches your eye find out what stores carry it.

I ended up going to 4 stores and wanted to avoid kleinfelds and I ended up getting my dress from there anyway.

Helen's in Commack!
I also had a good experience at David's Bridal, Bridal Suite in Centereach & Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point.

I made appts for trunk shows that I heard about. Then I went on the designers website & printed out dresses that I liked & showed the woman when I got there. It was a good way of showing what style i was looking for & what dresses I wanted to try on. I thought it was good help!

GOOD LUCK & HAVE FUN!

If you're willing to go into the city I'd suggest Kleinfelds so that you can try on a bunch of diff styles and see what looks and feel best. Then, I'd suggest Village Bridal- they are very nice, Lilettes- bc they have a good selection but they are a bit busy, I LOVED bridal reflections where I got my dress. The woman I worked with was an angel! HTH! Also I loved Bridal Elegance in Huntington, Phyliss the owner can get you almost any dress you like at a significantly cheaper price and they have great hours!

Alicia at Fantasia in Rocky Point is AWESOME! I went there for my first time dress shopping and she really helped me figure out what I want. I tried on so many dresses!

i looked at pics, but totally changed my mind after i started trying them on.. i say just go and start trying them on and see what styles you like and what looks good on your shape then take it from there.

Ant, I'm going to try Village Bridal in Babylon and Lillettes in Bellmore when the time nears. I personally did not enjoy Bridal Reflections in Massapequa when I went with my BFF.

I have heard good things about Helen's in Commack, and may try there as well.

I just started the dress shopping process as well. I first went to David Bridal as there were some dresses there I wanted to try and felt it was a good starting point to see what style of dress I liked best. That way when I make an appt. with a salon I can already know what styles I dislike and like, to narrow down the selection of dresses.

I recommend Bridal Reflections of Carle Place. Customer service was great and the girls are very helpful.

Thanks girls!

I made an appointment at VIllage Bridal because I'm going to be out in Deer Park tomorrow anyways (I live in Queens). So hopefully I will have good things to report!!

Then I will work my way down the list of others you all gave me ... thanks again!

I'm so excited!
