where do i start with booking honeymoon!

SO

with all the great deals going around now is def a great time to book a trip.

BUT

where do i start?!

I know i don't wanna go to Mexico (been there about....30 times), or Jamaica, and no cruises.

Thoughts on places, hotels etc?

thanks

Don't know what you're looking for, but FH and I aren't really 'beachy' people. We're more 'touristy' people, so we're going to Australia

Start with a travel agent. You dont have to pay them and they know all the deals!

If you book online book directly with the hotel NOT orbotz. When stiuff is bokked through orbitz and other companies the people at the hotel are less likely to be able to help you with upgrades/problems/etc.

Go to a travel agent.

I would highly recommend going through a travel agent. I had the same questions you did and they got me a great price, were able to make recommendations and there was no extra charge to use them! They arranged the flight, hotel, transportation to & from hotel, etc..

FM me if you want contact info for the woman I used.

We're doing a Royal Caribbean cruise for 9 nights...we wanted the convenience of an all-inclusive without the restriction of one location.

My FH is not a beach person and we both love art and history so we are going to Paris. We even have an over not lay over in Switzerland so we get to spend a day there!

We're doing 10 days in France -- going to 3 different cities. Annecy (in the Alps), Avignon, and Paris. I'm working with a travel agent for most of the trip but booked a B&B in Avignon on my own. It's been really fun to plan and I worked on my registry on Traveler's Joy by planning so many things!

FH and I are considering the Maldives, Bora Bora or Fiji.

We know we will never be able to get there once we have children.

im booked at the sandals in st lucia also....it looks GORGEOUS and ive heard awesome things about it too

there are 3 resorts in st lucia that are sandals....

if u go on www.sandals.com, u can look at all the resorts, and there are ALWAYS deals...for instance, when i booked we got 60% off! so instead of paying about 9200 i paid around 3600...

u can definitely find awesome deals at the sandals resorts there....

if u want the suites with upstairs and downstairs and ur own private pool n all that, it will be more money obviously...

FH and i chose the honeymoon grande luxe beachfront room cuz we party more than we stay in our room, a nice bed n bathroom is enough for us w/a beach view...plus where we're located is right in the center of everything (lobby, pools, golf, bars, restaurants etc) instead of being a mile away from everything where most of the suites are located

so its really dependent upon what you're looking for, but sandals does have good prices... i think the one im booked at is 60% off again right now

and if u call them to book it rather than jus do it online, u get ur own like honeymoon planner person...i call him constantly to ask him questions about our vacation, hes gonna call me as soon as airfare is available for that date, etc...they are really helpful!!

Hey, which Sandals hotel in St. Lucia did you book? I know they have 2 different hotels but I'm not sure which one to choose. TIA

Re: where do i start with booking honeymoon!

I have 3 recommendations for the Caribbean / Mexico with the top being my 1st choice and 3rd my last....All really good hotels though

I highly recommend looking into the Moon palace in Cancun Mexico. it is all-inclusive, each room has an included liquor bar, jacuzzi, awesome hotel with lots of restaurants, golf if you are into that, free bus shuttles into central Cancun, and a ton more! Also, you can go to any of the Palace hotels to 'eat & play'. I stayed there on a vacation once and was blown out of my mind and that was just for a 'regular room'

As for Jamaica, I have stayed in the Riu Ochos Rios. It was a great hotel and had a few areas where I though improvements could have been made, but for the price we paid it was excellent. Make sure you go through a travel agent and get cheap transfers to and from the airport (taxi = $100 us dollars and it's about 1hr ride or so) The hotel had many restaurants and more amenities/restaurants if you stayed in a jr. suite (which we did). Jamaica itself was a bit scary if we weren't with a tour group (beggers and sketchy people always tring to get your money somehow).
If you go here, the Dunn's river Water fall is a MUST!!!! That was the best excursion I have ever been on!

I would also recommend looking into Beaches in Turks and Caicos if you don't mind children at the resort. The restaurants are great! tons of entertainment and they just opened the 'Italian quarters' which they were building when I was there and they had so much to do on the resort. Again, I wouldn't leave the area if it wasn't on a guided tour..my mom and I though we'd go exploring... ummmm NO!! The caves there are another must see excursion..

FM me if you want any more info!!!

Hope this helps
