well i would love to move to NC - but FH refuses to consider living off LI. We'll probably end up out east - since that is all we can afford - Yaphank or Manorville (i work in Islandia so that isnt too too bad)

You have no idea. I don't know how anyone lives without a basement. But I guess I'll have to get used to it or I can just blow up this house and start over

We want to live anywhere on LI that is WEST of Glen Cove on the north shore, Mineola mid-island or Merrick on the south shore. I'm barely in Queens now and have been there for 9 years. Though I am tried and true LI - I grew up in Roslyn Heights.

FH picked that location for my sake. I work in Brooklyn but we have to live in Nassau County because he is a Cablevision employee. We get free cable, phone and internet service if we live where Cablevision serves. That could save us about $200 a month or maybe more. We aren't buying anything now - just looking to rent for a year or two. Both of our families are from LI. Mine is from Roslyn Heights and his is from Syosset.

We want to stay on LI also since FI works in the Westbury Schools and hopefully ill get a job in a school soon, but houses are soooo much money! We might buy a condo or townhouse, prob in nassau county

I have been teaching in Brooklyn for 9 years. I would love an LI teaching job in regular or special ed as I am permanently certified in both areas. But the teaching jobs are so hard to get there. I mean my sister and I had the same teachers through out school and she is 13 years older than I am . Teachers in good LI districts NEVER RETIRE!!!!
