I'm hoping you girls can help me out with your opinions.
I started a somewhat wedding-related business at the beginning of this year. I really want to advertise to brides, but I want to make sure I'm doing it right.
Can you let me know what websites and blogs you have used to get wedding info and find vendors? even if it's just a blog and not a big site, or even if it's something local, I'd love to hear about it.
I personally did a LOT on LIW for my wedding in 2011.
if you did choose a lot of LIW vendors was it just the fact that they were LIW vendors that steered you? Was it a particular ad or email, or just word of mouth?
Which sites do you trust?

Come to think of it, all of my vendors have been booked based on recommendations and reviews from LIWeddings. Wow! You girls rock.

My hall and photog/video guy arent LIW vendors but you guys had a lot to do with picking my dj!!!

LIW has pretty much been where I have gotten all of my info from. All of the vendors I have booked so far are from LIW but that isn't why I picked them. I got great recommendations from all of my fellow brides and checked various vendors out and it just so happen to work out that way

Me too Pretty much here, sometimes The Knot but also I browse those free mags they give out at the shows too.

I look for reviews all over. I goggle a lot. I learned to not go solely on LIW opinions after a vendor threatened to sue me for saying they were more expensive than other people I had spoken with. Knowing that certain vendors stalk the boards and demand that LIW remove anythign that can be taken as negative made me look at other websites too, like wedding wire, knot but also google, personal reviews and most of all, my gut!
