Where do you keep your carbon monoxide detector?

Where should it be located. Near where the boiler is? Or should it be where the bedroom is?

TIA

we have an apt. and we have the detector in the hallway across from the boiler room door. however, that is really centrally located. when we have a house, i would like one in the basement, one by the kitchen and one by the bedrooms. but then again, i would want to keep a window always open somewhere in the house...boiler room or garage or some bathroomsomewhere. just to be safe.

I have mine in the basement outside the boiler room. I think that's where you are supposed to put it. That's where the 1st sign of carbon monoxide would be. I think

I don't think you're supposed to keep it too close to the boiler room. You can get false readings that way...but I'm not positive.

We have one at the top of the stairs in the basement and the other in the hallway upstairs where all the bedrooms are
