Where do you put your favors and placecards at the reception?
My favors are small indian pouches with 4-leaf clover keychains inside (I am Indian, fiance is Irish so we thought it was a nice combination). Not everyone is getting a favor. Our favors are like invitations - couples get their own and children over a certain age get their own. We are not giving out favors to 5 year olds.
Anyway, I was thinking of having the placecards tied to the pouch and placed on a table outside the reception hall door. Any other suggestions? I could have just the placecards on the table outside and pouches on every other plate at the reception but that messes up things. Suppose someone takes someone else's favor from their plate before that person is seated?

Placecards will be set up by your RH< this is part of what you will drop off to the hall before your wedding in alphabetical order and htey will set it up for you. Your favors will also be dropped off, basically we did one per couple, figure out how many went at each table and gave this list to the RH and they pu them out on the tables the way we asked them to

If I put my favor at the table, I think it may mess things up because I am not seating all couples together. Say there's a table with 3 couples and 4 single people. That particular table would get 7 favors. It may be confusing for people when they sit since I am not doing assigned seating at the table, only which table # people are seated at.

Thats how we did it, no one took their favors when they sat down, we just placed them around the CP (not on the plates) and everyone picked them up when they left. It really isnt as complicated as you think its going to be-people will figure out that they are only 1 per couple, etc. I dont think its a common thing to do assigned seating at tables (at least I havent been to a wedding in years that did this) so that isnt a problem. I just dont think attaching them to the placecard is something I would do, its heavy and might tear and that leaves you with a worse situation then putting them on the tables.

We are putting placecards at a table where the guests enter and the favors on each table.

at my brothers wedding, they combined the favor and placecard into one thing. Their favors were lenox candy dishes in a wrapped box. The tag on it, had our names and table number on it. That way if its one per couple, then the couple actually gets one.

Sora777 - was the tag a sticker on top or something that was tied to the candy dish?
I want to have the placecard and the favor together but don't know how to do it. Would a placecard hanging off the pouch take away from the design of the pouch?

we're putting a favor at each seat, i think it looks nice to have a little gift waiting for you when you walk in the room and I think people forget to take things when they are left at the door on your way out.
