Jennbaby, re: finding a job on the island that pays -
1.) it partly depends on the field you're in and your level, but a larger company with a national presence may offer more.

2.) If you can get the names of some very industry-specific headhunters or executive recruiters from others in your industry you'll find they can hook you into good jobs - the kind that never hit the papers.

3.) Network, network, network.
