My FH & I work for the same company...so we have a lot of co-worker-friends. Where do we draw the line? I don't think he *needs* to invite the group that works for him - they are a bunch of rude, crass individuals (who have already made comments like: I wanna know how he was able to afford *that* car AND that rock!). I think inviting people you work for and with is a better idea.
What did (or will) you all do?

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
Just the bosses or you have to invite everyone That's my plan.
Also, if there is one or two people you are VERY close too that everyone knows you are close too - then it is ok to invite them too.

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
I work for a very large company, and I am friends with lots of people here. But I am only going to invite my 2 bosses, and my one co-worker (the girl that is in the office with me). Otherwise I will have to invite like 50 extra people. NO WAY!!!!!!!!
I think you should only invite the people that you and FH are close to at work.
at our wedding there was only one person that worked under DH...and that was because he was a GM and they have known each other forever
everyone from his job were lateral and his boss...who he is great friends with

It is always a nice gesture to invite your boss(es).
I am not inviting anyone from work.
They are not my friends and it is too $$$

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
I work for a small company, so I will probably be inviting most of the people I work with. The ones who don't get invited will understand that I just don't know them that well (part time receptionist, etc). But there are about 4-5 of us that have been working closely together for about 2 years and they will be invited. Maybe my boss too, LOL.

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
I debated this for $$ reasons. I work in an office with approx 25 people, so everyone w/guest was too many. But, there were some people I really wanted so I didn't want to only have my bosses. I ended up inviting both bosses, my old boss who is in a higher position with the company now, three woman and one man that I am friends with and three other woman that used to work here that have since transferred to other offices but I still keep in touch with. I asked them to not talk about it in the office and I let them know who was invited.

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
We're not inviting anyone we work with. Not even bosses - I like one but not the other and the one I like definitely won't come because he keeps kosher and I don't want to risk the other one coming b/c he irritates the daylights out of me! Besides, I have too many people on the list as it is!

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
IMO, I only invited people who were either political (like bosses and/or ppl I work very closely with and have for a long time) or considered friends (ppl who I would continue to be friends with outside of work). So that ended up being about 10 people with guests....

Thanks everyone. I guess I'm more with Lunatrek. We socialize with a group of about 10...but are very good friends with about 4 or 5 of those people. And we will definetly invite our bosses - we've both been here 7 & 8 years.
People are already expecting to come to the church...but we're not getting married in a church. See how well that goes. LOL

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
I'm only inviting the people at work that I consider my 'friends'. These are the people that I talk on the phone with outside of work, the people that buy each other Christmas and birthday gifts and the people that I lunch with everyday. I'm actually NOT inviting my boss because even though he's a nice guy, he's not someone I socialize with or consider a friend. I am inviting my 3 former bosses who have since left the company because I was very close to all 3 of them.
FH is a fireman who works in a firehouse with 50 other firemen. Impossible to invite all with spouses/significant other so he is doing the same as me - only inviting the ones he is friends with outside the office.

Re: Where do/did you draw the line?
I invited my boss and friends from the office. I didn't invite everyone in my department just the people I was friends with or wanted to be there.
