I have been to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and The Bridal Salon in Manhasset. I have an appoitment at Kleinfelds too.
I really love gowns by Reem Acra, Kenneth Pool, Amsale, Ines DiSanto and Eve of Milady.
I know that not many places carry Reem Acra. Does anyone have any other suggestions on where I can go?
Thanks!

How did it go yesterday at the Wedding Salon of Manhasset? I love that dress in the window right now? What did you try on? any luck at all?

Re: Where else should I go gown shopping
it went ok...
i tried on a few Reem Acras and some Kenneth Pool's. I am going back again this weekend for a trunk show they are having.
I really liked two of the dresses I tried on. I just wish I can take the top from one of them, and switch it with the bottom of the other- if you know what I mean.
I am finding that I like bits and pieces of one dress, and parts of another- but not the perfect dress.
I also wasn't crazy about the woman who helped me.

Re: Where else should I go gown shopping
Who helped you there. IWhat did she look like. just went in there this morning on my way to school and i made an appointment just to have one. I do not know if i am going to keep it though. I was turned off to the fact that there was a bride there that was trying on her gown and the salesgirl that was helping her was also talking to me and answering the phone. (it was good for me b/c i had a question for her, but i sort of felt bad for the bride that was there and needed her help...you know what i mean) i wouldn't want my salesgirl doing 5 things at one time either. But they do have beautiful dresses there!!!! So i might try them

Simply Different in Astoria carries Reem Acra. I heard the prices are very reasonable. You can try them.

Re: Where else should I go gown shopping
I've heard a lot of negative things about Adrienne's in Islip, but my experience was wonderful, everyone was so nice. They told me the make of the dress, no bull-****l. I ordered it that day, and made an appointment to take pix of sample on me, and they had no proble with that.

Tiffany, if you can, request that your appointment be with Noreen. That's who I used and she was really, really good!

Re: Where else should I go gown shopping
Try Kleinfelds, they have the widest selection around. I got my Kenneth Pool dress from there and they were great! If you're interested in Kenneth Pool, there is a trunk show during Thanksgiving weekend.

Re: Where else should I go gown shopping
I saw your post about liking the top from one dress and the bottom of another...this is exactly what happened to me and I bought my dress from Iman Bridal couture in Old Brookville. She is making it for me so I can have exactly what I want. Not sure of which designers she carries, but she had a very big selection and can make about anything you want.

Re: Where else should I go gown shopping
I would try Lidias in Copaigue. I LOVE them! I dealt with them for my brothers wedding and they were great! My mom had a really weird dress material (it was sorta like paper inside of the top of the dress) and for some reason they couldn't get it altered right b/c of the paper. Lidia dealt with the problem and was so NICE about it. It's a family run business and they treat everybody so nicely.... I actually just ordered my gown through her without ever seeing the gown except in a magazine, so we shall see how that turns out! I would definitley check her out...
