where is everyone registering???

we did bed bath and bayond and macy's. We're also considering having a honeymoon registry as well.

we registered @ BBB & macy's. i'm ditching the macy's registry bc they have been nothing short of a hot mess.

we'll prob end up w/ a second one @ fortunoff, bloomingdales, or crate & barrel. i also love the stuff at anthropologie, but they are a little pricey .

well, we used christmas & the e-party to test them out, and here's what happened:

* my mom paid $20 more than the list price @ BBB for a place setting of china, which they of course don't have in stock. she waited 6 weeks, and they delivered the wrong china. she went into the store to solve the problem, and the only resolution they offered was to place the order again, meaning she'd have to wait another 6 weeks. she took a refund and got it (in stock) for a lot less with a coupon @ BBB.

* several people who tried to use the registry for christmas gifts found themselves circling the store for an hour trying to find ANYTHING that was on it. macy's is totally inconsistent with their stock (store-to-store, week-to-week), and trying to find a customer service person to help you is nearly impossible.

*people complained to me that they had to wait for a really long time in the bridal dept for the person to come and print the registry. when all was said and done,. NONE of the gifts were taken off the registry. this is doubly annoying bc a big part of their sales pitch is the rewards program (you get a percentage back from what people buy on the registry, and they advertise a free vegetable dish if i complete 10 sets of china), but if that stuff doesn't get scanned in, no reward.

* they're miserable to deal with when you try to return. they were only willing to refund us the lowest list price (which can go REALLY low with their big sales) in store credit on duplicates that we got bc nothing came off the registry.

* a girl who helped my brother led him to the wrong food processor, which thus needed to be returned (holy hassle), and the china he bought me arrived broken.

there was really nothing good about dealing with them.
