I live out of state and wanted to have my rehearsal dinner on the water to show my out of town guests the beauty of LI but most places on the water wont take a private party in the summer bc they dont want to take away from regular summer business. I think I'm over the water thing but Im still in search of a great restaurant for my rehearsal dinner. Any suggestions?

EB Elliotts in Freeport has a private room upstairs. I cant remember if the food was great or not...but it's on the water : )

Captain Bills in Bay Shore and Molly Malones (also in Bay Shore) - right on the docks by the Fire Island Ferries will do private parties in the summer.
Also, check out Mario's Hi-Hook in Babylon - it has a great view of the Robert Moses bridge.

I was also going to recommend both Captin Bills and Molly Malones. My brother had his RD at Captin Bills it was really nice and the food is great

Check out Port Washington - two of my friends had rehearsal dinners there - one at Lamotta's and the other I have to double check. Louie's is a nice place on the water in Port Washington as well.

My parents are catered at her house. We are trying to keep it small but right now we are inviting 31 people to the dinner. My parents wanted to do this for fh and I.

We did ours at Davenport Press in Mineola. it was very good and they have a couple of private rooms.

I know it's a bit far from where you are having your wedding, but the Mill Pond House is a beautiful spot and overlooks the water in Centerport. I've heard they can be a little pricey though. Otherwise- I second the Snapper Inn or Riverview.

Danford's in Port Jefferson is on the water. Pretty reasonable and definitely beautiful!
