Where should I go dress shopping?

Where should I go dress shopping?

So now that our venue is booked (the Watermill- so excited!!!), the fun can REALLY begin... Dress shopping! Where should I go? I'm interested in a bunch of brands, some of them being Pronovias, Lazaro, Maggie Sottero, Paloma Blanca, and Watters.

I was looking at Lillettes, Bridal Reflections in Massapequa and the Manhasset Bridal Salon. Looking to spend no more than $2500, hopefully! I think Mom would even prefer to not go over 2k.

Where should I go?

Paradise Bridal, Village Bridal, and Charisol Bridal all had a pretty big Maggie Sottero selection.

I purchased my dress from Paradise!

ETA: And Village Bridal lets you take pics!

Village Bridal was great and they have most of the brands you mentioned.

Village Bridal is a bit far for me as I am in the College Point/Whitestone area. I think I will check out Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. How are the prices, service and seamstresses there?

I went to Kleinfeld and had an AMAZING experience...I think a lot of brides rule it out because they automatically think it is super expensive, which it definately can be, but they also have the widest selection of dresses across ALL price ranges....I told my consultant my budget, and she stayed within it, only pulling dresses in that price range. I wound up with a maggie sottero and I am absolutely in LOVE with it!!!! Good Luck dress shopping! I'm so happy I found mine, but am soo sad that its over

I second that. I did the Kleinfelds thing and hated it. I found them rude. I was dragged into a little box of a dressing room without even seeing any dresses. I explained to the woman what I wanted and the issues with my body type and she continued to bring me dresses that clearly didn't work for me and were not what I wanted. I was nearly in tears. Then my mom snuck a peak at the alterations sheets while she was out. EVERY SINGLE SHEET said $650, whether it said on it just a bustle or had major alterations being done. What a rip.

Then I went to Pronovias. You get there and sit down with your gown consultant and look through the books. You tell her which ones you want to see and off that she picks some more. They bring you up to a large lovely room with couches and mirrors and offer you coffee, tea, water, champagne. They bring in the dresses and help you in them and then leave you while you look at it and if you want you can even take pictures. My dress was pricey but it included alterations so overall it wasn't much more expensive and every time I went there the experience was a pleasure. My top 4 favorite dresses were all from there and they were all very different.

I got my dress from Charisol's...it's located in Flushing on Northern Blvd and around 158th Street. Very affordable, not a huge huge selection, but it's right by you. If you're looking for something specific, just ask and she may be able to get it from another store.

Bridal Salon in Manhasset was really quite the experience. If you can go during the week. I had the salon to myself, saw as many dresses as I wanted. Felt like a true princess. They are bringing in a new dress that is from a new line, no other salon would do that for me! I HIGHLY recommend them!
