Where should I register???

Where should I register???

And when? I am 10 weeks tomorrow, and I don't plan on registering until after the holidays, but just trying to get an idea of what the best stores are. I work in Manhattan and there is a Buy Buy Baby near me and the baby depot at Burlington Coat Factory. I've been to Babies R Us to buy a gift a couple of times. Any preferences based on price and selection?

Re: Where should I register???

I think BRU has the best selection. and best prices. Target also has even better prices, but less selection. and they have cute stuff in their own brand/line.
I had a bad experience with Buy Buy Baby, but that was just MY experience. I was in their store before I registered, looking around. In half hour, I noticed 3 things that were ticketed wrong, and pointed them out to salesgirls to doublecheck myself, and it didnt even seem to phase them (This was in the Huntington store). They seemed BOTHERED that i made them do extra work and fix the tickets. It was 2 items that I was going to register for and 1 item that I purchased and had to get a price adjustment. and again no apologies or thank you's. I felt like it was bad dream...
ALSO, after I registered, it took well over a month to see my registry online. I emailed their IT Department/web team, and they were very SLOW in getting things done. Their emails were very polite, but that was of no use to me. I still have the emails if you'd like to see the dates, and how long it all took ! By the time the registry was functional, it was 2 weeks after my shower...
I've worked in IT and know that resetting a password takes SECONDS, not months !! THANKS, but no thanks ! Talk about never wanting to shop somewhere. I just find them to be very lax, in a fog and NON customer-service oriented.
Also, a friend told me about when they were in the news a while back, a girl had registered there, and there was a bad fire in her house/aptmt and they asked BBBaby to offer her some baby stuff since she had lost so much. They DENIED it, saying she must have receipts and proof that she registered there and these items were purchased for her..(something like that..) Thats horrible !!
So needless to say, I have a bad taste in my mouth for that store ! I did buy my stroller there, because they had the pattern I wanted (I called Evenflo to find that out). That was it for me and that store !

Also BuyBuy Baby and BabyDepot are very few and far between. There are SO MANY BRU's around and they are more well known.. It just makes life easier for those shopping for you.

Shopping on your own, you can also try stores like Marshalls and TJMaxx. I found my crib bedding set at Marshalls (Carters for $39.99) and BRU has it for $69.99, so shop around ! So i bought that myself and took the cheapo BRU one (for $50) off my registry...

Hope that helps ! Happy shopping !

Re: Where should I register???

I would second BRU since it is easier for people to find this store somewhere near them. Very helpful for older adults who are not on the internet or own a computer....
Retrun policy is good there as well. I had to return one of 2 wings I recieved..and 2 sleep positioner..and the process was VERY smooth
