well, i can't stop thinking about this. we wont be going on a honeymoon til months after the wedding b/c fh will be in the police academy. :(
we live 7 blocks from the garden city hotel so we thought of staying there ($300) Guests will be at the red roof inn in garden city so we thought about staying there ( $115 per night)
I'm so confused as to what to do. I know we should stick around so we can have breakfast the next morning with folks.
what do you think?

Re: where sould i stay on the wedding night??
I would stay at the hotel you are planning on staying in and then all of you could meet up in the morning...if that is what you want.... if you want it to just be you and FH that is fine too and i am sure your guests will understand...you having loving to do!!!

Since you aren't going on your honeymoon immediately, spend a little more and opt for the Garden City hotel. Just trek over to the red roof inn the next morning to greet your guests if you feel you should see them off.

splurge for the garden city hotel. it's your one and only wedding night! plus, it'll start a nice tradition for your FH to continue on anniversaries.

I am having the same dilema. The suite at the hotel my guests are staying at is booked. I probably will travel to the hotel the next morning. I think it might be good to have a little distance the night before anyway.

We stayed at the Garden City Hotel. We were NOT impressed at all. It is just an average hotel. The room was nothing special. We should have gone to the Marriott. I stayed there the night before the wedding and was in a great corner room.

Check out the suites of some hotels nearby or what if you went to a place in the city?

that is totally a personal choice...our guests & family stayed at the Wingate Inn while we stayed at the Garden City Hotel...but we wanted to be alone the next morning if u wanna be with everyone than by all means stay with the fam.

Thats so funny....I used to live 7 blocks from the GC Hotel as well .........
I say splurge and go with Garden City but if you want to be close to family/friends, then just stay where they are, but in a Suite

I don't know where we should stay, either. We aren't leaving on our HM til 2 days later. There are TONS of hotels in the Westbury/Garden City area, so you may want to look into them. There's a Hilton Garden and a Holiday Inn in Westbury, and the Wingate (now called La Quinta I think) in Garden City.
FH and I ideally would like to stay at the Roslyn Clermont since we'll be right there at the Swan Club, but the lady there told me that if we don't block rooms there, they won't book an individual room for us. So annoying!

My FH is coming out of the police academy this month and we have also decided to put off the HM until a few months after the wedding. For the mini-moon I was thinking about a romantic bed and breakfast in the Hamptons or maybe taking the ferry out to Connecticut....
