My gown is super heavy with a chapel train that looks retarted with a bussle. It just occured to me that i should look into getting a short dress because i dont want to be hot and bother... or prevented from dancing the night away lol...
Now... can anyone suggest a place... other than David's Bridal... where i can get a short wedding dress at such short notice??
Online maybe? the city??

I would definitely try RK Bridal - they have a selection of dresses that are available within 3 weeks.

Don't know how much you are willing to spend considering that you already bought a dress.
Cristina Arzuaga (sp?) keeps a lot of samples in her showroom. She is in the city 2 blocks east of Union Square. She is the sweetest lady. Her website is cristinabridalcollection.com .
She is setting up to sell her dresses in LI in Lynnbrook at a place called Saraz.

macy's has short white dresses I would take a ride to Herald Square's Macy's. Also, Saks is very close and also has short white dresses.
Do you go to NJ? If so, there's a store in the Jersey Gardens Outlet Mall that has so many comfortable dresses - many under $300. I tried one on last weekend for $90 (on sale)

I have a chapel train, and it bustles fine. What kind of bustle are you looking at, french or traditional?

Try Roosevelt field: Jessica McClinton...or something like that...on the 2nd floor. They have lots of gowns on the rack & you may be able to find a bridesmaid's dress in off-white.
ALSO: I have 2 great white dresses: one was bcbg from Bloomingdales, one was from estelle's. Try those places.

I would try Lord & Taylor. They always have a nice selection of dresses there and they have evening gowns. Worse comes to worse if they have a long gown that you like the style...you can have it cut to made shorter at the taylor. Good thing is - Lord & Taylor does their own altering. I always find nice dresses there for occasions and have had two altered and they came out very nicely.

Try going to any department store and look for regular white or ivory gowns. I got mine from Macy's. It is just a white gown, but looks very 'bridal' when i put a crinolin slip with it and wear my jewelry.
