Every shop typically has bigger sizes, no? I got mine at David's Bridal. I was the largest size there but I was at least able to try things on and buy right off the wrack.

Becareful ordering things online - the sizes are much smaller than what you really wear. At least that happened to me when I orderd two dresses from LaneBryant.com and Davidsbridal's online only selections. I think it's also because they are priced much lower (like $200 a dress!)

I'm on the heavier side and I went to a regular bridal salon. A lot of the sample dresses are either a size 12 or have a corset back.

So I was able to get in to the sample sizes just to get an idea. Then they measure you, and order the dress in your size :)

Be very careful. They tried to squeeze me into size 10's and you can in no way get an accurate idea if a dress will flatter you or not. I'm going to FM you.

David's Bridal is a good place to start looking.
Also there are specific designers (depending on how much you want to spend) like Maggie Sottero, Alfred Angelo, Jasmine, Mori Lee, and few more that I can't think of atm that make plus sizes.

I wore a Maggie Sottero (see my review and albums for pics) and I'm a street size 24.

Also keep in mind that some wedding gowns run smaller than your regular street size so if you do order online be careful.

Btw I went to Lillette's in Baldwin for my gown- they carry samples that are 16+ as well but they can clip the backs of gowns so you can get an idea of what you look like in them.

I found mine at Davids also- everyone there was great- tried on live 10 dress all were my size and a couple were too big- so they have plenty- I went to one store and they kind of looked down there nose at me and said ' we don't carry anything in your size, we could try and drape it around your neck SO you can see what it would look like.' a yea like that is how I want to try on the most important dress of my life- I walked out. Anyways Davids try there.. Good luck!!!

I went to Lillette's and they had dresses in 12.14 and 16 to try on.

I was able to see how my size would actually look, so it was great. You should be able to find places that carry all sizes.

i wen tto bridal reflections... they did not have alot of larger sample sizes for those dresses that buttoned or zipped up...
i knew i wanted a maggie.. and hers are corset backs.. so it was easy to get in the sample...
street size when i was trying on dresses i was a size 12 (dress a size 16/18) and i felt more then comfortable and NOT squished into a dress.

They all can order plus size. They dont all hold them which was hard for one of my BM (she needed a size 20). I too where plus size (14 I guess is plus) but I went to davids bridal so I knew they would have dresses that fit!

i went to bridal suite in bayshore and they seemed to have the best selection

bridal reflections and davids had some, but not as many as Bridal Suite

David's Bridals definitely - even if you don't like any of the dresses there, you can try on and get an idea.

I went to Fantasia Bridal in Rocky Point and they had a few selections in 18W to try on - including a kick a$$ Maggie S! (I couldn't afford it though )

I got my dress at Davids also. I went to the one in Centereach though, by the Smithhaven Mall. I found that the other one in Nassau County, the people ween't as nice.

I got my in davids bridal.....and they do have a great selection....i looked at them online to see what I liked and when I got there I tried them on and did the process of elimination. SO I would recommend davids. One of my bm need a big size and they ordered it for her. I live in the Bronx so I went to the one in Westchester so I cant tell you about the ones out there but im sure they are nice

I also went to Bridal Reflections, and did not have a good experience there .... she showed me like 3 dresses, and then said they had nothing else for me to see

I had a good experience at Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook.

And I had a great experience (and bought my dress) at Lillette's in Baldwin.

I went to bridal suite in centereach. They had a good amount of plus dresses.

Where ever you go, be sure to check out Maggie Sottero dresses. They are beautiful and affordable and soooo flattering. The corset ***** you right in!

I have an album of dresses I tried on.

I've gone to Lillette's, The Wedding Plaza, David's Bridal and RK Bridal.

I saw the one's I love the most at RK Bridal and The Wedding Plaza.

I only tried on 3 or 4 dresses at David's Bridal in Lake Grove but all were in my size (20) they had many others too !! The sales consultant was really nice and very helpful. She actually said just try this design and that was the one I bought for our upcoming wedding

I bought mine at Davids Bridal. Most of the dresses I found online, they had for me to try on in the store.
